- My name is Melissa Van Kuren and I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! This is my fifth year working at Notre Dame Academy year and I feel blessed to be a part of such a wonderful school. I know we are going to have a great year!
- I would like to take this time to tell you a little bit about myself. I am 30 years old, and am from the Buffalo area. I attended Buffalo State College where I majored in Childhood Education and Special Education. I also earned a concentration in American Studies. I then attended the University at Buffalo for my Master's Degree in which I became certified as a literacy specialist for grades K-12. Prior to my work at Notre Dame Academy, I worked at a charter school in Buffalo as a long term first grade teacher. I also worked in the Williamsville Central School District as an Academic Intervention Services Teacher.
- Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband Adam, our baby boy Mason, and our dog Winnie. She is a five year old Boston Terrier and we love her so much! I also enjoy reading, hiking, going to the movies, and spending with with my friends and family.
I became a teacher because I love working with children and helping them to achieve their goals both inside and outside of the classroom. It is very rewarding watching them learn and grow! I am thrilled to be working with you and your child this year. God Bless!
